Parliament failed to reach sufficient numbers again

Sufficient number of deputies could not be reached in the General Assembly of the Assembly, and no meeting could be held this week.

Parliament failed to reach sufficient numbers again

A quorum was not reached in the General Assembly of the Assembly of the Republic today.

The General Assembly of the Assembly, which has been experiencing quorum problems since Monday, made two convening attempts today and could not reach the majority.

President of the Assembly Önder Sennaroğlu, while giving the closing speech of the Assembly, stated that the next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 10:00.

THE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED IT HAS RESIGNED

On Wednesday, October 13, Prime Minister Ersan Saner issued a written statement and then submitted the resignation of the government to President Ersin Tatar.

“LAWS ON THE AGENDA OF THE PARLIAMENT WILL NO LONGER BE DISCUSSED”

In a statement after his meeting with President Tatar, Saner stated that the President informed him that the current government will continue until the new government is formed and said, “The laws on the agenda of the Parliament will no longer be discussed. The draft laws sent from the Prime Ministry will be put on the agenda and discussed as a priority," he said.

AFTER THE MEETING MARKED EARLY ELECTION DATE

Stating that they are ready as UBP in an early election, Saner said, "We want to determine the election date, including the end of December."

TATAR: “THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE NEW GOVERNMENT IS ESTABLISHED”

Making a statement after his meeting with Prime Minister Saner, President Tatar said, "The current government will continue to serve until the new government is formed," and he said, "I wish such situations had not occurred."

Noting that the Supreme Election Board has some expectations regarding the Election and Referendum Law, Tatar said, "Our valuable deputies will evaluate this."
