Asya Polatlı, who is remembered by everyone as "Baby Asya", took the medicine zolgensma, completed her treatment in the south of Cyprus and returned to the north of Cyprus.

Asya Polatlı's father, Ozan Polatlı, told Kıbrıs Postası what happened after Asya returned to the north of Cyprus.

“WE TAKE THE MEDICINE, WE RETURNED HOME THE NEXT DAY”

Expressing that his daughter Asya took the gene therapy drug zolgensma on October 21 and returned home the next day, Ozan Polatlı mentioned that the drug may have side effects. Underlining that they need to protect Asya from infection, Ozan Polatlı stated that they will not leave the house unless necessary. Emphasizing the importance of not carrying viruses to the house, Ozan Polatlı said that the virus that will enter the house may cause very serious problems for Asya.

Father Polatlı stated that the donation campaign for Asya ended very well and said, “We met very nice people who supported us during this process. First of all, Asya has volunteer sisters and brothers. These people stopped their own lives and slept with Asya day and night and woke up with Asya. Sometimes, they went door to door to collect donations, sold products in the markets, and collected donations in front of the markets. We can't thank them enough. Thanks to them, we made the voice of Asya heard.” Expressing that Nicosia Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmancı enabled the use of Central Nicosia within the framework of the campaign, Ozan Polatlı stated that Mayor Harmancı always cooperates with the people who run the campaign. Opening a separate parenthesis to Şener Elcil, Secretary General of the Cyprus Turkish Teachers' Union (KTÖS), Ozan Polatlı said that Elcil communicated with the south of Cyprus and reported the situation in Asya. Ozan Polatlı also conveyed his thanks to the media organizations that made Asya's voice heard.

Ozan Polatlı, who thanked the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos AnastAsyadis, all the health workers of Makarios Hospital who undertook the treatment of Asya, and Christina Kousparou, the representative of Novartis, for their interest, and emphasized that Asya completed her treatment without any problems.

“WE WILL FLY THE BALLOON”

Noting that they will fly balloons in Yusuf Yönlüer Park, which is right next to their house, Ozan Polatlı said, “We will gather and fly balloons to celebrate the treatment of Asya. Due to the risk of infection, we will attend the event from the balcony of our house. It will be nice to see everyone who loves Asya and has a heart for Asya.”
