Minister of Public Works and Transport Resmiye Eroğlu CANALTAY announced that the unfinished seven-kilometer section of the Güzelyurt-Lefke ring road will be delivered to the Republic of Turkey General Directorate of Highways this week in order to be tendered.

Canaltay stated that the construction works will start in a short time after the road is handed over for tender and said, "The goal is to open the Güzelyurt-Lefke divided road completely to the service of the people of the region within 2022."

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Minister of Public Works and Transport Canaltay went to the region today and examined the route cleaning works on site.

Minister Canaltay stated that on the seven-kilometer section of the Güzelyurt-Lefke ring road, they managed to solve the problems that have not been solved for nine years and that hinder the completion of the road, with teamwork and a good-willed approach, in eight months, and that the people of the region will have the infrastructure that they have been waiting for for a long time.

“We have fulfilled our mission thanks to the devoted work of the Highways Department staff and the positive attitude of the owners. First of all, I would like to thank the personnel of the Highways Department, then the owners and the people of the region,” Canaltay said, adding, “The important thing for us was to remove the obstacles in front of the road and to start the road construction works as soon as possible. We achieved this. I am very happy for the people of the region,” he said.

This week, T.C. to bid for the unfinished seven-kilometer section of the Güzelyurt-Lefke ring road. Expressing that it will be delivered to the General Directorate of Highways, Canaltay stated that the construction work will begin in a short time after the road is delivered for tender. Canaltay said, "The goal is to open the Güzelyurt-Lefke Divided Road completely to the service of the people of the region within 2022."
