Üstel spoke about his dismissal from the Ministry: "Our President may have been misguided"

Former Minister of Health and National Unity Party (UBP) Deputy Ünal Üstel answered the questions of Erçin Şahmaran on Kıbrıs TV.

Speaking about his dismissal from the Ministry of Health, Üstel said, “We went through the process of the General Assembly, then a new government was formed. I think someone said something wrong to our President, he was misled. I was under the influence of someone and I was fired. This is quite normal, they exist in politics…”

The statements of Üstel, who participated in the program called "Objektif", on the agenda are as follows:

"It has been scientifically proven in the coronavirus pandemic that the whole world is struggling, that people who are vaccinated are less sick than people who are not vaccinated. While many countries cannot access the vaccine, we do not have a vaccine problem. We have a serious stock of vaccines, both in sufficient numbers and in varieties. For about 15 days, we started to vaccinate the fourth dose, especially in priority groups.

We saw all kinds of criticism as a gain and tried to take advantage of it. It's not just about criticizing. Let suggestions be made, we took care to receive contributions from all kinds of thoughts during our duty process. The only reassurance we have is the vaccine. Let's definitely get our vaccine.

As UBP, we had an important congress process. A new government was then formed. I think someone said something wrong to our President, he was misled. He was influenced by someone. And I was fired. This is quite normal, they exist in politics. I am not angry or resentful. I try to do my best as long as the task is given. UBP brought me to every office. I have never had a curiosity or demand for authority. We have to achieve stability in the new period. The public will still make the best decision."
