Emphasizing the importance of acting in cooperation and consultation in order to overcome this difficult process, Sucuoğlu said, "We are all together on this ship."
Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu received the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Free Trade Unions (Hür-İş), the President of the TRNC Public Workers Union (KAMU-İŞ) Ahmet Serdaroğlu and the union representatives accompanying him.

“WE WILL HAVE OPINIONS WITH THE RELATED MINISTER ON THE DRAFT LAW ON TAX CHANGES”

Stating that they will exchange ideas with the relevant minister on the draft law on tax changes, Sucuoğlu stated that they will also meet with the minister about the minimum wage.

Stating that they are trying to solve the problems in the country with the means at hand and looking for a solution, Sucuoğlu emphasized the importance of acting together.

Emphasizing that he found it right to act by taking the opinions of the relevant sections while making a decision, Sucuoğlu stated that they would discuss the draft law again.

Sucuoğlu noted that he will meet with the minister about the minimum wage and they will discuss what kind of plan he intends to put forward.

Stating that it is important for all parties to have good intentions and to be able to meet on a common ground, Sucuoğlu said that there are currently election bans, and that their sphere of influence will expand with the establishment of the new government.

Pointing out that it is necessary to bring hot money to the country by providing new sectoral initiatives after the election, Sucuoğlu said, "We must be able to stand on our feet in an economic sense."

Stating that the pandemic had a negative impact on the economy and that the country's locomotive sectors were externally linked, Sucuoğlu stated that the problems experienced in tourism had a negative impact on the domestic market as well.

Reminding that the effects of the pandemic continue, Sucuoğlu noted that some scientists said that the effects of the new variant of the virus have eased and turned into a flu infection, and that if a different situation occurs, a difficult process will be entered.

Sucuoğlu pointed out that the market is shrinking all over the world.

SERDAROĞLU: “PURCHASING POWER OF WORKERS DECREASED, THE COST OF LIFE INCREASED AGAINST HIGH PRICES”

Hür-İş Deputy Chairman, KAMU-İŞ Chairman Ahmet Serdaroğlu said that the purchasing power of the workers has decreased and the cost of living has increased in the face of the recent price hikes.

Expressing that the government should consult with the unions, especially in the decisions regarding business life, Serdaroğlu stated that the unions were left out of the process and the draft law on tax regulations was one of these decisions.

“LET THE DRAFT LAW CONTAINING THE AMENDMENT ON TAX REGULATION BE RETRACTED BY RETRACTING”

Expressing that the draft law that includes changes in tax regulation includes the increase in taxes and the reduction of the special tax reduction of 10 percent to zero, Serdaroğlu said that it is not possible for them to accept this bill. Serdaroğlu demanded that the draft law be withdrawn and reconsidered.

Serdaroğlu asked whether the determination of the minimum wage would be subject to election bans, and demanded the government to clarify this issue.

Serdaroğlu said that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission should convene and determine the new minimum wage in January.
