PM Sucuoğlu says it’s important to end political uncertainty
Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu has highlighted the importance of ending political uncertainty and achieving continuity through the January 23 elections.
He said failure to do so will result in the continuation of the downward slide in the country.
Speaking on BRT on Friday morning, Sucuoğlu said that this issue was the focal point of his recent visit to Ankara.
The prime minister added that his meetings had also focused on the new 2022 cooperation protocol being drafted which will be finalised after the elections at the end of the month.
Reminding that the government had taken a decision to raise the salaries in the public sector by 37.2 per cent to reflect the rise in the cost of living, Sucuoğlu said that they also supported the increase in the minimum wage.
“We will also complete work on the contributions to be made to employers as soon as possible so as to minimize the impact the increase of the minimum wage will have on their payments,” he said.
“We chose to keep the names of these companies a secret for ethical reasons,” he added.
