People's Party (HP) Kyrenia Deputy Erek Çağatay explained that the current problems in the country can be overcome with a good staff that does not pursue personal interests and strives for social benefits, and that as the People's Party, they are working and making preparations in different fields with such a staff.

Erek Çağatay emphasized that they set out with the responsibility of leaving a country where they can build a future, where there is equal opportunity, based on merit, where corruption is not experienced and which does not lag behind the change in the world.

Stating that they continue on their way without compromising the principle of "clean society, clean politics", Çağatay said, "What is happening today is not destiny, it is the result of bad administrations that have been going on for many years. In 2022, we should not be a country where power cuts are still on the agenda. Our people deserve better and should make their choice in this direction at the ballot box," he said.

“EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES MUST BE PROVIDED IN EDUCATION AND GO TO FULL-DAY EDUCATION”

Erek Çağatay, who stated that equal opportunity in education is one of the first steps to be taken for children and youth, as the representative of a generation that grew up in public schools, continued his statement as follows:

“Today, there is a process in which those who have the means direct their children to private schools. We went to public schools and got a pretty good education. However, the world and the education process are also changing. The conditions in public schools should be improved rapidly and public schools should be provided with full-time education within a certain plan. We have to provide the same standard and quality education not only to children in the cities, but also to children all over the country, from Yeşilırmak to Dipkarpaz. We must give equal opportunity to children and young people, who are the future of our country, at the beginning of life.

“EDUCATIONAL PLANNING AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ARE IMPORTANT”

Noting that "there is a lack of planning in the field of education in the country", Çağatay stated that the state can assume a "guiding and supportive" role in line with the needs of the country in vocational education and university education, and both the youth and the country will benefit from this." Çağatay stated that with the re-planning of vocational high schools, a great contribution can be made to the industry, informatics and service sectors, that qualified technical personnel needed by the economy can be trained and unemployment can be reduced in the country.

Emphasizing that education should be the first step to leave a promising country to children and young people, Çağatay stated that they are in favor of starting the necessary structuring without wasting a single day.
