Minister of Interior Ünal Üstel made statements about the agenda by participating in the program called 'Alternative', which was broadcast on Genç TV screens and prepared and presented by Didem Gürses.

Pointing to the process in the government crisis, Üstel said, “There is a fact, we are going through very difficult conditions... The government has broken down due to a dead end within itself. The opposition is pushing for early elections, I respect their opinion. But there is a fact, our country cannot afford a new early election. "An early election would be the end of this country," he said.

Stating that it is true that the government program is the same, Ünal Üstel said that the opposition will evaluate the government program on Thursday and it will be approved on Saturday.

Speaking about the municipalities reform, Minister of Interior Ünal Üstel said, “It has been kept in the refrigerator for 14 years. Now, together with the opposition, we will do it all over again in the Ad-Hoc Committee," he said.

Üstel drew attention to the criticisms and said, “They criticize us, but I want them to criticize what they have done in the past. They did politics while connecting the villages to the municipalities, and they tied the villages where they would get votes to them," he said.

“IF WE DON'T MAKE THESE REFORMS, WE WILL LOSE ANOTHER 4 YEARS”

Stating that the works of the past ministers were blended, Üstel said, “We blended the current studies, worked with lawyers, and brought them to the Parliament. Because the local elections were at an early date. If we do not make these reforms, we will lose another 4 years. While the world is making these reforms, why shouldn't we?" he asked.

"We may have a deficiency, I have no objections," said Üstel, adding, "What are parliamentary commissions, they are a filter.

Pointing out that they will continue to meet with the opposition within the scope of the municipalities reform, Üstel noted that the election date could be discussed in the Ad-Hoc Committee.

“NOT ONE OF THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES WILL BE STOPPED”

Üstel said:

“We may have shortcomings or mistakes, but this time is not that time, this is the time for unity, solidarity.

Not one of the municipal employees will be stopped. Some of our friends gave false information to make populism. After the holiday, I will visit all the towns and explain. We strengthen the financial structure of municipalities. All of them will work under better conditions.”

FROM ÜSTEL TO ÖZKIRAÇ: "TO SEE YOU IN LAW..."

Stating that the reductions in electricity prices may come to the agenda of the Council of Ministers, Üstel stated that the Council of Ministers will meet at 12:00 tomorrow.

Speaking about the criticisms of Kubilay Özkıraç, the President of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Workers Union (EL-SEN), Üstel said:

“The court will decide on the ugly statements he made. He didn't leave anything you didn't tell us, but I will continue to tell the truth. He said words that I did not deserve, I made my complaints. He's going to go to court now. See you in law…”

PROTOCOL... “NO AGAINST INTENTION OR SOMETHING MISSED”

Pointing to the 2022 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol signed with the Republic of Turkey, Üstel said:

“The text of the protocol came to our country in the form of a booklet. It was sent to Ankara again because of minor mistakes. There was a government crisis until the new text came out. So he waited… There is no ulterior motive or anything missed.”
