Üstel: Work is underway place on the cost of living

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has underlined that their priority after the establishment of the government was the economy.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel evaluated his Ankara contacts to Kıbrıs Postası by emphasizing that work has begun for the cost of living to be reflected on to wages and that a delegation from Türkiye will be arriving in the TRNC and working with the delegation here.

Also referring to the Russia-Ukraine war and the depreciation of the TL against foreign currency, Üstel said that as the government, they had discussed these issues and had met with the relevant organizations.

Stating that they had forwarded the data to Ankara, Üstel noted that they had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and discussed all of their problems.

Stating that they had held a meeting in Ankara in order for business people to participate in Ankara-based tenders, Üstel said that they had enabled a large part of the tenders to be carried out in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

“The 510 million TL defence budget and resources for tourism professionals have arrived and were released today and the necessary initiatives had been taken for the youth and athletes, as well as on previous projects” Üstel said.

Reminding that they were working on easing crossings at crossing points, Üstel said, “We will work to improve the gates for our people living in the south or those flying to the south.”

Stating that they had also started work to lower the cost of airline ticket prices, Üstel stated that they have called on airline companies to have more flights to Ercan airport.
