President Tatar attends Aydınköy and Şahinler Village Women’s exhibition

President Ersin Tatar stated that Turkish Cypriot women always continued their struggle and continued to produce in all situations and underlined the importance of women’s courses in villages in keeping the cultural memory alive and for women to play a part in economic life.

He made the statement during a visit to the Aydınköy and Şahinler Village Women’s Course End of Year Exhibitions.

President Tatar attended the end of year exhibitions of the Aydınköy and Şahinler Women’s Village courses.

Speaking here the president touched upon the importance of the courses for women that take place in 78 villages throughout the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the support of the Ministry of National Education.

Noting that the courses were aimed at giving women economic freedom and developing a sense of cooperation and solidarity by socializing, the President also emphasized the importance of transferring handicraft works to future generations enabling them to produce in the future as well.

“The important thing is to keep the culture alive and to share these handicrafts. Despite all kinds of obstacles, our state and people continue to produce. By producing, we both maintain our culture and contribute to the economy. Turkish Cypriot women have always continued their struggle and have continued to produce under all conditions” said Tatar.
