Atun who met with the Head of the Turkish Central Bank Şahap Kavcıoğlu will meet with the Turkish Minister for Energy Fatih Dönmez later on Wednesday.

Minister Atun and the Turkish Energy Minister Dönmez will discuss ways of addressing the TRNC’s growing energy demand and tackling rising production costs due to the rise in the price of fuel.

As part of his contacts in the Turkish capital, Atun met with the Head of the Central Bank Şahap Kavcıoğlu on Wednesday morning.

Evaluating his contacts to BRT, the TRNC Finance Minister said that he had discussed with Kavcıoğlu the implementation in the TRNC of the FX-indexed Turkish lira deposits scgeme currently in place in Türkiye.

Later in the afternoon, Atun will come together with the Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez.

The two will discuss ways of meeting the growing energy demand in the TRNC as well as tacking rising production costs due to the rise in the price of fuel.

The details of the transportation of two mobile power generators donated to the TRNC are also among the issues to be discussed during the meeting.

During his visit to Ankara, Atun is being accompanied by his Private Secretary Kamil Ağcabay and Kıb-Tek Chairman of the Board Hasan Akyiğit.
