Altuğra holds inspections at Nalbantoğlu State Hospital

Health Minister İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra paid a visit to the Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital on Friday morning.

Minister Altuğra announced that the restoration of the Cardiovascular Surgery Service which was damaged in a fire will continue and that work to renew the Emergency Room will be completed soon.

Speaking to the press following inspections at the state hospital, the Minister of Health İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra noted that hospitals constituted the infrastructure of the health system and stressed that the Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital was the flagship hospital in the country.

Noting that there had been serious problems at the hospital as a result of a fire which broke out in 2020, she said the damage at the Cardiovascular Surgery Service caused major problems for the health system.

Announcing that the restoration work at the Cardiovascular Surgery Service which was stalled as a result of the rise in the foreign exchange rates will continue, the health minister said one of the angiography devices which was damaged in the fire had been repaired and was providing service to the public.

Explaining that work to renew the Emergency Room was continuing, Altuğra highlighted the importance of regularly updating the hospital’s infrastructure and carrying out maintenance.

Stating that the restoration work at the Emergency Room will be completed soon, she said the ER will offer higher quality health services to the public after the renovation.

“We will continue to serve our people,” Health Minister Altuğra added.
