Qatar prints a special commemorative coin for the 2022 World Cup

The Central Bank of Qatar has printed commemorative coins for the 2022 FIFA World Cup that the country will host.

The ceremony held in the capital Doha for the promotion of the commemorative coin was attended by Central Bank Governor Bender bin Muhammed Al Sani and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, as well as Turkey's Ambassador to Doha Mustafa Göksu and some other Qatari officials.

Central Bank Governor Al Sani, in his speech here, said that as one of the historical moments of the country, a commemorative coin was issued within the framework of their contribution to the world cup.

Stating that the commemorative coins will reflect Qatar's cultural heritage, Al Sani said, "Hosting the World Cup is a source of pride for us." said.

Referring to the design and metal quality of the minted coins, Al Sani noted that these coins were printed as polymer for the first time.

Central Bank Governor Al Sani stated that the printed commemorative coins bear the FIFA and 2022 World Cup logos.

Qatar, the first Arab country to host the world cup in the Middle East, continues its preparations.

Qatar and Ecuador will face each other in the opening match of the world cup, which will be held in Qatar between November 20 and December 18 with the participation of 32 teams.
