Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, found the solution to the money blue tick debate by adding a second hashtag.

According to the company's statement yesterday, a gray tag will also be added to some well-known accounts to highlight that they belong to real people.

Musk plans to include the blue tick system, which shows that the accounts are real, within the scope of the premium service Twitter Blue.

Users who do not pay $ 8 per month for this service will lose their blue ticks.

Twitter Blue also provides users with extra benefits such as gaining more visibility and seeing fewer ads. It is planned that the price will vary from country to country in line with purchasing power.

On the other hand, a number of well-known names, including the famous horror writer Stephen King, did not like Musk's plan and announced that they would leave the platform if the blue tick paid.

Some experts have also expressed concerns that fake accounts and fraud may increase as the blue tick feature becomes available to everyone for a fee.

Esther Crawford, who leads the Twitter Blue initiative on top of that, announced that there will be a "gray and official checkmark" for governments, companies or public figures:

"Many people have asked how to distinguish between TwitterBlue subscribers and officially verified accounts with a blue checkmark. That's why we're introducing the 'official' hashtag."

According to The Verge's report, it will not be possible to obtain the gray sticker with money.

However, it is not yet clear whether the tag will be seen only when the person's profile is entered, or whether users will also see the official tag when browsing their homepage.
