14 Fires Reported in a Week, Causing 164,000 TL in Damages

According to information provided by the Police Press Office, 14 separate fires occurred throughout the country between September 11 and 17. According to the Police Press Office, a total of 14 fires broke out in the country in just one week.

According to the statement from the Fire Department, the fires that occurred between September 11 and 17 caused 164,000 TL in damages.

The probable causes of these fires during this period were explained as "ignition due to contact with an active electric stove by slippers, deliberate lighting by individuals, electric-related short circuits, and discarded cigarette butts left unextinguished."

During this period, the Fire Department responded to 20 private service incidents. These private service incidents included the rescue of individuals trapped in vehicles as a result of traffic accidents, people trapped in elevators, a pigeon stuck in a chimney flue, a calf that fell into a well, and cats stuck in the motor compartment of a vehicle. Additionally, it involved the retrieval of a fishing boat that started taking on water while moored at the harbor dock and facilitating the transfer of deceased individuals to the hospital for forensic investigation purposes.
