Josep Borrell: Discussed Future Steps in EU-Turkey Relations with Minister Fidan
Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has announced that he discussed future steps in EU-Turkey relations with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
In a post on his social media platform, Borrell mentioned that he had the opportunity to exchange views with Fidan during their meeting at the United Nations' 78th General Assembly in New York.
Borrell stated that they discussed the future steps in EU-Turkey relations ahead of the report he will present to the European Council, along with the European Commission.
He also noted that they discussed the "highly concerning" situation in Karabakh. The European Council had requested Borrell and the European Commission to prepare a report on the state of relations with Turkey to be discussed in the fall, taking into account the results of the May 28 elections.
