One Week, 5 Fires in Total
The Fire Department has reported that there were a total of 5 fires and 21 special service incidents in the TRNC over the course of one week. The fires resulted in no material damage.
According to the Fire Department's report covering the period from November 6th to 12th, the probable causes of the fires that occurred during this time were uncontrolled fires started for cleaning purposes and sparks from welding machines igniting dry grass.
The special service incidents included rescuing cats stuck in vehicle engine compartments, saving dogs trapped on the roofs of buildings under construction, providing fire safety measures, rescuing individuals stuck in elevators, offering fire safety training, school visits by District Fire Departments, and facilitating the transfer of deceased individuals to the hospital for forensic investigation.
