Sucuoğlu: We confirmed our consensus on political, economic and social stability with our homeland

Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu made a statement to the press after his meetings with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay, "We have confirmed our consensus with our homeland on political, economic and social stability."

Emphasizing the meaning of making the first official visit to the Motherland of Turkey after forming the government, Sucuoğlu pointed out that the budget process in the TRNC, the budget process in Turkey and Fuat Oktay went to Ankara with an invitation after the coronavirus illness.

Stating that they first had the opportunity to consult with Fuat Oktay on economic and financial issues, infrastructure projects and other technical issues, Sucuoğlu said, “After spending the budget, if we hadn't passed the 2022 budget, we would have had much more trouble. We, as the government, have personally experienced and seen how the right decision we have taken," he said.

Sucuoğlu said, "We had a very productive and very warm meeting with Mr. Fuat Oktay."

“WE TALKED ABOUT THE GENERAL ECONOMIC AND THE POLITICAL SITUATION”

Stating that they had a second short-term meeting with Fuat Oktay before meeting with President Erdoğan of Turkey, Sucuoğlu said, “Then we talked with our President for about 1 hour and 20 minutes, both the general economic situation and the political situation. In addition, we have demonstrated our determination for a solution on the basis of two sovereign equal states supported by the TRNC, President Tatar and us.”

Reminding that he also met at a dinner with 30 deputies from the AK Party and MHP and former ministers in Ankara, Sucuoğlu stated that they exchanged views with the deputies on the economy, financial issues, investment areas and Maraş.

Sucuoğlu said, “I am very pleased with the hospitality shown to us here yesterday and today. We will have some important meetings tomorrow," he said.

Emphasizing that Turkish President Erdogan and they have a common expectation for the future of the TRNC, Sucuoğlu said:

“Obviously the way of reason is one. The first is political stability, which we have not been able to achieve until today, but we will after January 23. The second is economic stability and, of course, the third is social stability. Our people need to lead a happier life economically. I clearly told them this.

We are ready for power on January 23. There will be a government on the head, without the hassle of being elected, making radical decisions. That's what I said word for word. We are that clear. It's a pleasing situation...

They also told us that they want permanent stability. We have seen the support determination of our Motherland on issues such as existing projects, new hospital, highways, new presidential and parliamentary buildings, tourism incentives, increasing the number of students coming to the country, and Ercan Airport. We also told about the economic losses and the problems of the sector. We talked at length about the choices. We had very good talks. We had very useful and fruitful conversations. It is good that we have come, it is good that we had these meetings... I would like to thank President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vice President Mr. Oktay for their warm hosting. In the future, our contacts will increase even more.”
