Following the problems experienced in the supply of natural gas from Iran, Turkey imposed restrictions on natural gas used in industry. In fact, in the statements made by the bosses, the restrictions were only reflected in the industry, and he coveted the natural gas used in the heating of the houses during the winter months.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan brought the Israeli gas to the agenda again in two speeches he made recently. In a statement after his visit to Ukraine, Erdogan said, "We use Israel's natural gas in our country, and beyond using it, we will engage in a joint work for its transition to Europe. Now, I hope these issues will be on our agenda with Mr. Herzog during his visit to Turkey." Speaking similarly on his return from his visit to Albania, Erdogan said, "If Israel's gas will go to Europe, this will not happen without Turkey."

According to Chat Karbuz, Hydrocarbons Manager of the Mediterranean Countries Companies Association (OME), interviewed by DW Turkish, Israeli gas may be a good alternative, but there are great obstacles in front of it reaching Turkey.

Reminding that no progress has been made due to the lack of support for the Eastern Mediterranean Pipeline on which Israel, Southern Cyprus and Greece are working, Karbuz said, "The operator companies of the Leviathan gas field now have two alternatives for the operation of this gas. The companies have been working on this for a long time. The first one is off. "To carry gas to the LNG facilities in Egypt via the shore (offshore) line, and the second is to establish a floating LNG facility. Turkey can be a third alternative here," he said.
