Sucuoğlu: We will take steps away from populism, we will not worry about taking radical decisions

Giving details about the 2022 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol, Prime Minister Sucuoğlu said, "There are no clauses stating that the Cost of Life allowance and the 13th salary will be abolished. Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu announced the details of the 2022 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol on BRT screens.

Saying that the one-sentence summary of the 10-page protocol is “A TRNC economy standing on its own feet,” Sucuoğlu said, “We will do these things away from populism. We will not worry about making radical decisions, we will ensure that the economy somehow gets back on its feet," he said.

Stating that they held a meeting between the delegations for one and a half hours before the signing of the protocol, Sucuoğlu said, “There is a consensus on the implementation of legal regulations in terms of reducing expenses and increasing income in terms of public finances. We will bring it to the agenda of the Council of Ministers in the coming days," he said.

13. SALARY AND COST OF LIVING BENEFIT

Sucuoğlu stated that there are no clauses in the protocol stating that the Cost of Living allowance and the 13th salary will be abolished. These are the results that depend on the steps we will take in the future. It would not be right to say anything positive or negative,” he said.

"ACTION PLANS COMBINED UNDER 4 TITLES"

Stating that the action plans are grouped under 4 headings in the protocol, Sucuoğlu said, “One of them is public administration and public finance policies. The second is economics and finance. Third, social policies. The fourth is justice, security and defense policies," he said.

3 BILLION 200 MILLION TL GRANT, 1 BILLION 50 MILLION TL LOAN

Stating that Ankara has committed to provide 3 billion 200 million TL in grant aid and 1 billion 50 million TL in loan aid, Sucuoğlu continued his words as follows:

“Out of the 3 billion 200 million grant aid, 2 billion 164 million TL will be contributed to infrastructure and real sector projects. A contribution of 96 million TL will be made to operational appropriations and 940 million TL to defense expenses. Within the scope of credit assistance of 1 billion 50 million TL, a contribution of 500 million TL in terms of contribution to the current budget deficit and 450 million TL in support of reform is foreseen. CLAIMS THAT KIB-TEK WILL BE CUSTOMIZED

Speaking about the allegations that the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Corporation will be privatized, Sucuoğlu said, "There are rumors about KIB-TEK. There will be privatization, it will be like this. No such thing. We are a gossip-loving society. No such thing. X companies came and said, 'We want to generate electricity', and the Prime Ministry said okay to this issue, there is no such thing. "There is no need to create tension in the country at this stage," he said.
