Good news from the first Cabinet of the new government

After the Council of Ministers convened under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu made a statement to the press.

Announcing the decisions taken, Çavuşoğlu pointed out that the government has not yet received a vote of confidence, and said, "We have evaluated the issues within our authority and we have planned the issues to be discussed with the work to be done in the Parliament."

Stating that Prime Minister Sucuoğlu explained the new electricity tariffs and alcoholic beverage funds, which caused controversy, Çavuşoğlu said, “There are two issues that have been decided, but whose decrees have not come, and which are promised to be fixed by the public. Electricity tariffs for March and alcohol, which are requested to be rearranged by tourism professionals, are the subject of funding. Those requested to be corrected were unanimously accepted.

SPECIAL ELECTRICITY TARIFF FOR MARCH...

Çavuşoğlu continued as follows:

“As of April 2019, in order to solve the financial problems of KIB-TEK, this decree was issued with the decision of the board of directors of the institution dated February 24, even if the electricity consumption tariff was not updated for 3 years, even for 1 month regarding the incoming load.

The tariff adjustment made in KIB-TEK is related to the regulation that has not been made for 3 years. As you know, in May, an instruction was given to switch to multiple tariffs. It will be done accordingly.

0-250 KWS – 0.98 TL
250- 550 KWS - not 2.70 TL, 1.70 TL
501 – 750 KWS: For 2 TL, not 2,95
750 – 1000 KWS: 2.25 TL, not 3.25 TL
1000 KWS and above: 3.30 TL, not 4 TL

TOURISTS WILL ALSO BENEFIT

A lot of reproaches have been formed by tourism professionals, and tourism professionals will also benefit from the March discount for the necessary measures. For investments used as hotels in tourism tariffs, it will be charged from 2.70 TL to 1.70 TL. The tariff, which is 2.70 TL for hotels with casinos, will be 2 TL. The problems have been resolved, the promise of the Prime Minister has been fulfilled.

ALCOHOL FUND

Our second word is about the alcohol fund... The reorganization of prices is our common agreement. Mr. Prime Minister took office regarding keeping the promises made during the previous government term.

The new regulations were made in accordance with the proposal brought by the finance. The beer fund, which was 3 TL, was reduced from 15 TL to 5 TL. Wine has been reduced from 20 TL to 5 TL.”
