Erkut Uluçam, President of the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, published a message on the occasion of 14 May World Farmers Day.

Celebrating the day of the farmers who add value to the country's economy with their produce, Uluçam noted that agriculture started with the existence of human beings in the world and that it will continue as long as humanity exists, and said, "It is impossible to give up."

Pointing to the opinion of many writers or thinkers that "agriculture should not be supported", Uluçam emphasized that the worldwide coronavirus epidemic showed that food cannot be given up.

Stating that the support of agriculture should be the top priority sector of the countries, Erkut Uluçam noted that the governments should give importance to the agricultural sector while creating their annual budgets.

“AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION CONDITION”

Pointing out that agricultural production is a must, Uluçam said, “But by saying condition, this is not possible by making the peasant or the farmer a flag for yourself in the election squares. For him, the time has come, the agricultural sector should be the top priority sector of this country.”

Arguing that the existence of short-term, medium-term and long-term projects for the agricultural sector in the country cannot be mentioned, Uluçam said, “We have recently watched how eager the governments are to shift agricultural lands to the construction sector. Time will show everyone how wrong you are on this issue," he said.
