Rauf Raif Denktaş bust presented to Töre

The Chairman of the Denktaş Foundation Serdar Denktaş visited Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre and presented him with a bust of Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş.

Speaking during the visit the Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre said that it was their responsibility to mount the late founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş’s bust next to those of the great Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Dr. Fazıl Küçük in the parliament’s garden and added that the bust would be placed into position prior to the 15^th of November.

According to a statement made by the parliament, the Chairman of the Foundation Serdar Denktaş stated that they wanted to present the bust made by sculptor Tahsin Albulut to the Parliament on behalf of the Foundation.

“We thought that our leader, who created our Assembly and was also the President of our Assembly, should be here as well. I hope it will take its place in our Parliament at an appropriate time and a deficiency that has existed for years will be eliminated” said Denktaş.
