PM Üstel evaluates action plan

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that all ministries and institutions have mobilized in order for the Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol Action Plan signed between the Republic of Turkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to be implemented.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that all ministries and institutions have mobilized in order for the Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol Action Plan signed between the Republic of Turkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to be implemented.

Evaluating the topics that are on the countries agenda, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that once the steps envisaged in the Action Plan are taken, a more foreseeable future with higher living standards will be created.

“We will build a predictable, investable and prosperous country for our youth, children and nation” said Üstel and added that they could no longer afford to waste any more time.

Reminding that the 2022 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol Action Plan was signed by the Faiz Sucuoğlu government, Üstel stated that they, as the government are embracing the Action Plan that includes comprehensive structural transformation and reforms that are all aimed at  further developing the TRNC.

Noting that the government has submitted the action plan to the Republic’s Assembly, Prime Minister Üstel said that they will work with relevant institutions in Turkiye by preparing many items in the Action Plan together with non-governmental organizations, academics and bureaucrats.

Üstel said that he will have the opportunity to talk and evaluate some important items in the Action Plan with Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay during his visit to Turkiye at the beginning of the week.

Explaining that the Action Plan is aimed at solving the problems faced by citizens and businesses for many years, Üstel said, “The plan includes the creation of the necessary resources in our Treasury, in order to be used in the solution of these problems.”

He also stated that the Plan does not only impose obligations on institutions in the TRNC, but also on the relevant institutions of the Republic of Turkiye.

Stating that the Action Plan includes the development of programs for families, women, children, the disabled, elderly individuals, citizens receiving social assistance, relatives of martyrs and veterans, and strengthening the status of women, Üstel explained that in the health-related part of the action plan, investments are foreseen that will eliminate the problems that the people have been experiencing for years.
