Iraqi Turkmen Front delegation visited Tatar, Töre and Ertuğruloğlu
A delegation from the Iraqi Turkmen Front is holding contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Within the framework of their contacts, the delegation was received on Thursday by President Ersin Tatar, the Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre and Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu.
Receiving the Iraqi Turkmen Front delegation on Thursday, President Ersin Tatar stressed that the greatest strength of the Turkish Cypriots was the support they had of motherland Türkiye.
He also noted that the support of all Turks and Turkic countries to the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people was extremely valuable.
“It is also pleasing that this struggle is a source of inspiration for you. We are an inseparable part of the greater Turkish nation,” Tatar said.
Stating that the struggle being waged today was aimed to preserve the Turkish-Greco balance, he said, “Our national stance and honour here is important for the Turkic world. It is important for our existence to act with a strong Türkiye. This is my policy and vision.”
Later in the day, the delegation was received by the Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre.
Speaking during the visit, Töre reminded that the Turkish Cypriots had achieved their freedom through the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation.
He said that they were acting together with Türkiye with the aim of further strengthening the TRNC.
“We have no intention of deceiving the Greek Cypriots, the United Nations (UN) or the European Union (EU). But they too should not attempt to deceive us,” Töre added.
As part of its contacts in the TRNC, the Iraqi Turkmen Front delegation also paid a visit to Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry Information Office, during the visit Minister Ertuğruloğlu shared the Turkish Cypriot side’s view with the delegation.
Speaking during the visits, the head of the İraqi Turkmen Front Hasan Turanda said that the political movement’s visit to the TRNC was its first official visit since it was founded.
He said that the people of the TRNC had always served a source of inspiration for their own struggle.
Turanda said that the stronger the bond between the Turks of the world the more it would strengthen their struggle.
