The Minister of Interior Ziya Öztürkler came together with Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay as part of his contacts in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Evaluating his contacts to the BRT, Minister Öztürkler said many issues were taken up during his meetings with Turkish officials.

The Minister of Interior Ziya Öztürkler was received by Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay on Tuesday.

The meeting which was held at the Turkish Presidential Complex was held closed to the press.

As part of his contacts in Ankara, Öztürkler also visited the Turkish Radio Television Corporation (TRT) where he came together with the Deputy General Director of the Corporation Hasan Öymez.

Minister Öztürkler evaluated his Ankara contacts to the BRT.

Explaining that they discussed what can be done to solve the problems during his meeting with the Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu; he said Minister Soylu approached the problems with a solution oriented manner.

Reminding that a new prison was built with the support of motherland Türkiye, Öztürkler said that most probably the new prison law will be approved at Parliament’s General Assembly on the 27th of June.

Referring to the problems being experienced with passports as a result of problems in the chip production process caused by the pandemic, he said they requested help from the Turkish Interior Ministry in order to solve this problem.

Minister Öztürkler added that they had once again reviewed the Urban Security Systems protocol signed between Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), aimed at increasing the security at border gates and work being carried out for possible measures to be taken for immigration.

Stressing that their biggest aim was to provide a more coordinated, systematic and contemporary service to the public, he said his contacts in Ankara were mainly focused on this.
