Twitter changes DM interface for Android users
Twitter is giving a more modern look to its DMs (messages) in the Android app. The social network has also revamped the DM feature on Android, improving the speed of replying to messages.
Twitter has started to make changes to its interface to make the DM (message) tab in the Android application more visually appealing to people.
The social network's Android app hasn't changed much over the years, but Twitter said it began redesigning its DMs on Android after assessing the experience with the OS and determining it needed to improve.
The look of messages in the app now looks cleaner with rounder speech bubbles and a text box. The inbox itself also looks a lot less cluttered.
Twitter stated that not only the appearance of DMs on Android has changed, but also the responsiveness and scrolling performance have been improved. Twitter said it has redesigned the app's tweet forwarding capabilities, as well as the message generator.
The company has been slow to bring new features to the Android app so far. For example, search was available on iOS and the web for almost a few years before it hit the mobile platform.
