The Veterinary Department announced that a bird flu case was found in pigeons belonging to a person in Çayönü village.

The Department stated that the pigeons had a high mortality rate in a short time, with the notification made by the person to the Veterinary Department.

It was reported that the suspicion of Avian Influenza (Avian Influenza) was determined in the autopsy performed by the Veterinary Department on dead animals.

The statement from the Department is as follows:

“Samples required for the laboratory diagnosis of the disease have been taken and definitive diagnostic studies are continuing.

As a precautionary measure, all other pigeons in the poultry house, Veterinary Department and Beyarmudu Municipality teams were culled and properly destroyed. Other poultry businesses and farms in the area are monitored by the Veterinary Department.”
