Singer Gülşen's trial postponed to 1 March
The hearing of the case, in which singer Gülşen is on trial for up to 3 years in prison, has been postponed to 1 March 2023.
In the case of Gülşen Çolakoğlu, who was asked to be imprisoned for up to 3 years for the crime of "inciting the public to hatred and enmity" because of her words about imam hatip high school students, the file was sent to the prosecutor to prepare her opinion. The hearing was adjourned to March 1, 2023. Only 3 of the 702 complainants came to the court.
The second hearing of the case against singer Gülşen was held today.
While Gülşen Çolakoğlu, who was on trial pending trial, did not attend the hearing at the Istanbul 11th Criminal Court of First Instance, her lawyers were present. Three complainants attended the hearing.
Reminding that the foreign travel ban has been lifted, Gülşen's lawyer asked for the return of 250 thousand liras, which was given as security deposit.
The court rejected the request for the return of the security deposit and postponed the hearing to 1 March 2023 in order to eliminate the deficiencies.
The court sent the file to the prosecutor to prepare its opinion.

Gülşen was arrested on 26 August for "inciting the people to hatred and enmity or humiliating" because of the words she said about imam hatip high school students at a concert.
Gülşen, who was released on 29 August upon objection, was subject to house arrest and judicial control. The house arrest warrant for Gülşen was lifted on 12 September.
