While an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred at 4.17 in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.4 and 6.5 occurred in Gaziantep.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel made a written statement about the earthquake.

The message of Üstün is as follows:

“We regret to witness that the 7.4 magnitude earthquake, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş and felt strongly in our country, has caused serious disasters in more than one province of Turkey, even though it did not cause any destruction in our country.

As the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, together with all our institutions, we are ready to be at every point that Turkey needs and to provide any assistance we can, and we have started all the necessary studies in this regard.

As a nation, we will overcome this disaster together by supporting each other.

I convey my best wishes to our people and our nation. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the earthquake, and my condolences to those who lost their lives.”
