TRNC sends search and rescue team of 30 people to earthquake zone in Turkey

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that after the 7.4-magnitude earthquake, the epicenter of which is in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces in total, they will send 8 specially equipped vehicles with a 30-person civil defense team to Turkey in the first place.

Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ünal Üstel, announced that they will send 8 specially equipped vehicles with a civil defense team of 30 people to Turkey in the first place after the 7.4 magnitude earthquake, the epicenter of which is in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces in total.

In a statement to the AA correspondent, Üstel said that a team of 30 people with search and rescue training under the TRNC Civil Defense Organization and 8 vehicles will depart from Kyrenia Port in full equipment today.

Unal stated that they have always been in solidarity with their motherland Turkey and conveyed their condolences and wishes to the Turkish people.

According to the information received from the TRNC authorities, the first civil defense team that will depart for Turkey by ship at 12:00 local time will be assigned to Gaziantep.

Another search and rescue team of 10 people from the TRNC will go to Adana by plane and from there to Adıyaman by land and participate in the work.
