Another part of the citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who lost their lives in the wreckage of the Isias Hotel in Adıyaman as a result of the earthquake that occurred in Turkey, was brought to the country.

The funerals of 13 citizens, who were brought to the country from Adıyaman at 00.00, were welcomed by their families, friends and loved ones at Ercan Airport.

A state ceremony was also held for the 13 people whose bodies were found during the search and rescue efforts.

There were emotional moments in tears at the meeting, which was attended by President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, Main Opposition CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman, ministers, deputies, military personnel and other officials.

On the plane where the bodies were brought, some of the teams participating in the search and rescue efforts, families and people from the earthquake area also came to the country.

The bodies of 10 citizens, including 7 students, 2 teachers and one parent, were brought to the country at around 03:30 in the morning.

Famagusta Turkish Maarif College girls and boys teams, who went to Adıyaman to participate in the championship, were left under the rubble as a result of the collapse of the Isias Hotel, where they were staying, in the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred on Sunday, February 6th.

In order to reach those under the rubble, an uninterrupted work is still being carried out in the wreckage of the Isias Hotel.
