SERDAROĞLU: EXTRAORDINARY RENT INCREASES CANNOT BE PAID EVEN IN INSTALLMENTS

Ahmet Serdaroğlu, Chairman of the Federation of Free Trade Unions (Hür-İş), evaluated the impact of uncontrolled rising rents on citizens who make a living with the minimum wage in Cyprus Post.

Ahmet Serdaroğlu stated that the floor and ceiling prices of the rental prices should be determined and said, "This is not a difficult planning to do."

“UNREGISTERED MUST BE AVOIDED”

Pointing out that the unregistered residents of the country also have a share in the uncontrolled increase in rents, Serdaroğlu said, "Informality should be prevented and strict controls should be made."

Noting that there is a weakness in the administration in the country, Serdaroğlu said, "The lack of a stable government structure affects the economy negatively."

Serdaroğlu said, "More economic problems are waiting for us," and that this crisis can only be overcome if we act together.

“THERE İS NO GOVERNMENT STRUCTURE THAT CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEMS THAT GROW LIKE A AVALANCHE”

“WE ARE AGAINST A GOVERNMENT THAT HAS OPENED THE UNIONS AND ECONOMIC ORGANIZATIONS”

Saying that they are faced with a government that has turned all unions and economic organizations against it, Serdaroğlu said, "People have no confidence that the government will do the right things."

Noting that a fund should be established under the name of earthquake and crisis management, Serdaroğlu said, "But let's do this fund's expenditures together and control it."

Serdaroğlu said, “The management of the earthquake fund should not only be with those who are in government” and that the right path can be followed if the fund management is done together with all stakeholders.

“DO NOT TAKE THE EARTHQUAKE FUND ONLY FOR ONE YEAR”

Noting that the earthquake fund to be created should not be only for one year, Serdaroğlu said, "This fund can be used against a possible earthquake."

Emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity in these difficult days that Turkey and the TRNC are in, Serdaroğlu said, "We must act in social solidarity."
