The driver of the vehicle collided with the garbage truck died
Sadık Özcan Topkayalı, died in a traffic accident that occurred as a result of a collision between a garbage truck and a vehicle on the main road of Ercan-Gaziköy today.
According to the statement made by the Police Press Officer's Office, today (March 07, 2023), at around 08:00, between the 3-4th kilometers of the Ercan-Gaziköy main road, a garbage truck led by 40-year-old Ümit Ilgan was on the main road while traveling towards the west. When Birkayalar Petrol came in front of them, it was reported that they collided as a result of their carelessness and turning to the secondary road to the right without giving priority to the vehicles on the main road, and the saloon with EP 712 plate, under the direction of 53-year-old Sadık Özcan Topkayalı, who was traveling towards the east on the main road at that time, blocked the front of the vehicle.
Topkayalı, the driver of the vehicle with license plate number EP 712, who was seriously injured as a result of the accident, was taken to Nicosia Dr. Despite all the interventions at Burhan Nalbatoğlu State Hospital, it was announced that he could not be saved and died.
