Aysan Gazi's body has been kept in the morgue for months amid discussions on "where to be buried"
The funeral of Aysan Gazi, who resided in Yeniboğaiçi and died on June 10, 2022, has been kept in the morgue for more than 9 months because his family relatives could not agree on the place to be buried.
The body of Aysan Gazi, who came from England and settled in Yeniboğaziçi and died at the age of 80 on June 10, 2022, after living there for many years, has been in Nicosia for more than 9 months. He is waiting to be buried in Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Morgu.
After his death, Gazi's dead body, whose autopsy was performed on June 15, remained in the morgue due to the "disputes of his children".
Gazi, who said that he wanted to be buried next to his wife and lost child in London with the video sharing he made before he passed away, brought the case to court.

In the decision of the court on October 18, 2022, it was stated that it was no longer possible for the body waiting in the morgue to go abroad.
Family relatives who did not accept the decision to bury Aysan Gazi's body in the TRNC in October last year, this time brought the decision to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court, which has the right to inspect all the actions of the lower court, re-examines the decision produced.

Nicosia Dr. Adil Özyılkan, Chief Physician of Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, made a special statement to the Cyprus Post on the subject.
Noting that Aysan Gazi's body has been kept in the morgue for more than 10 months, Özyılkan said, "The process has been prolonged due to the disagreement of his family members."
Pointing out that the judicial process regarding the place where his body will be buried continues, Özyılkan said, "We are waiting for the judicial process to be completed."
