EL-SEN: The information given by Erhan Arıklı about production costs does not reflect the facts

The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Employees Union (EL-SEN) made a written statement regarding the statement made by the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Erhan Arıklı, regarding Aksa in the Parliament.

In the written statement made by EL-SEN President Çağlayan Cesurer, it was stated that while the production cost of Kıb-Tek in the same type of diesel power plants in February was 9.77 c/kWh per kWh, the energy received from Aksa was 15.23 c/kWh. It has been recorded that it produces energy / kWh cheaper.

In the statement, “Despite all the negativities, despite the fact that Kıb Tek could not use its capacity efficiently due to the purchase guarantee with Aksa, the production cost of all the power plants of Kıb-Tek was 11.85 c/kWh, and it produced 3.38 c/kWh cheaper. While these facts are in the middle, it would be beneficial for the public to know that we have to stop the power plants that will produce more cheaply and buy more expensive energy from Aksa."

In the statement, it was also emphasized that the way to reduce the production costs of Kıb Tek is not to make a new agreement with Aksa, but to implement new power plant investments immediately and terminate the contract with Aksa.
