The Fileleftheros newspaper reports that the Cypriot Greek family is currently safe, but they are reluctant to communicate with the authorities in South Cyprus, as they wish to keep a low profile. However, the newspaper notes that the family's situation is being verified through the Honorary Consul, and communication has been established with them.

According to the spokesperson for the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Gotsis, the family members were born and raised in Khartoum, and thus have a better understanding of the conditions and how to protect themselves than the Cypriot authorities.

The newspaper also reports that efforts are being made to verify information about other families who may be trapped in the area.
The ongoing conflict in Sudan has raised concerns about the safety and security of foreign nationals living in the country, including Cypriot Greeks. The Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised citizens not to travel to Sudan until the situation stabilizes.
