Hotels' occupancy rates are lower compared to last year this holiday season...

There has been a 2% decrease in hotel occupancy rates compared to last year's Ramadan holiday...

While the average hotel occupancy rate was recorded as 61% during last year's Ramadan holiday, the expected rate could not be reached this year.

According to the data released by the Cyprus Turkish Hoteliers Association (KITOB), it is estimated that hotel occupancy rates will be around 59% during the holiday period.

THERE IS A 3% DIFFERENCE IN SMALL HOTEL OCCUPANCY RATES!

While there was no change in the occupancy rates of large five-star facilities compared to last year, the difference was evident in small hotels.

This holiday season, it is expected that the occupancy rates of small hotels will be around 48%, while the same rate was recorded as 51% during the same period last year.

There is also a significant increase in the number of facilities that will be empty during the holiday period compared to last year. While 9 hotels remained empty during the holiday season last year, this year the number of customerless hotels has risen to 17.

ÇAĞINER: HOTEL OCCUPANCY RATE BELOW EXPECTATIONS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

KITOB President Dimağ Çağıner evaluated the reasons behind the decrease in hotel occupancy rates to Kıbrıs Postası.

Çağıner stated that hotel occupancy rates are below expectations this holiday season and said, "There was a more satisfying occupancy rate during last year's Ramadan holiday."

Çağıner also added that the high cost resulting from the increase in plane ticket prices and input costs negatively affected hotels this year.
