The statement noted that the Household Labor Force Survey for February could not be conducted in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Osmaniye due to the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. The proportion of sample households in these provinces was stated to be 4.4 percent of the sample. It was emphasized that the results included in the March bulletin were calculated by weighting based on the provinces where the survey was conducted and providing estimates for Turkey. However, since the survey could not be conducted in the affected provinces, the impact of the earthquake on the indicators could not be reflected, and it was planned to conduct studies to measure the earthquake effect on past periods with the start of field application in the future.

According to the bulletin, the number of unemployed people aged 15 and over in Turkey increased by 4,000 people to 3.5 million in March compared to the previous month. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 10 percent. However, the unemployment rate decreased by 1.2 points compared to the same month last year.

In March, the unemployment rate for the young population aged between 15 and 24, increased by 0.7 points compared to the previous month, reaching 20.1 percent.
