Multi-vehicle accident on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in Lefkoşa
According to the information provided by the Police Press Office, a traffic accident involving three vehicles and a motorcycle took place yesterday evening at around 22:00 on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in Lefkoşa.
The accident occurred when a vehicle with license plate NZ 936, driven by 20-year-old Mehmet Ali Yılmaz, was traveling westbound on the boulevard and reached the intersection known as Honda Traffic Lights. The vehicle did not stop at the red light and continued its way.
As the NZ 936 vehicle proceeded through the intersection with a green light, it collided with the front right side of a sedan with license plate LZ 151, driven by 20-year-old Kemal Turan, heading northbound on Şht. Mustafa Ahmet Ruso Street.
The impacted vehicle then veered and collided with a motorcycle with license plate SH 653, driven by 22-year-old Muhammed Umair, which was stationary at a red light in the opposite direction, as well as with a car with license plate ZRB 371, driven by 24-year-old Salim Chimbo.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the NZ 936 vehicle, Mehmet Ali Yılmaz, sustained injuries and was taken to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, he was placed under observation.
The police investigation into the accident is ongoing.
