Three ccidents occur in the country, drunk drivers arrested

Drivers, all of whom were under the influence of alcoholic beverages, were arrested in 3 traffic accidents that took place last night in the country. As a result of the accident, a pedestrian was injured and taken to the hospital.

On the Lefkoşa - Güzelyurt Highway, an intoxicated driver, identified as İsmail Sarıkaya (36), driving a sedan with license plate DN 917, collided with the rear of another sedan with license plate LY 550, driven by Beytullah Ermiş (54), who had slowed down near the Çağaloğlu traffic lights due to traffic congestion. Sarıkaya was subsequently arrested.

In another incident that took place at approximately 11:15 AM yesterday, no injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.

ACCIDENT IN ÇATALKÖY: PEDESTRIAN INJURED

In Çatalköy, on Beşparmaklar Avenue, Süleyman Pempe (41), who was driving a truck with license plate HT 378 while under the influence of 200 ml of alcohol, lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road. Pempe collided with Muhammed Shazeel Khan (29), who was walking in the same direction on the roadside. Pempe was arrested, and the injured pedestrian was taken to the surgical department of Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for observation.

The investigation is ongoing regarding the accident that occurred around 10:30 PM last night.

ACCIDENT IN GÜZELYURT: ERAY IŞIK ARRESTED

In Güzelyurt, at around 2:00 AM last night on Şht. Halit Kazım Street, Eray Işık (23), driving a vehicle with license plate KJ 682 while under the influence of 136 ml of alcohol, collided with a parked car with license plate EK 152, which was carelessly entering Kocatepe Avenue. No injuries were reported in the incident, and Eray Işık was arrested.

The investigation is ongoing regarding the accident, which resulted in no injuries.
