The newspaper Fileleftheros extensively covered the issue with the headline "Over 30% of Turkish Cypriot Shops in the Hands of Non-Titleholders." The report revealed that more than 30% of Turkish Cypriot-owned shops, particularly, have been given to non-migrant Greek Cypriots.

The newspaper highlighted that the audit report indicated that out of approximately 9,000 Turkish Cypriot-owned shops, over 2,000 have been allocated to non-migrant Greek Cypriots. Furthermore, many of these individuals are reported to not even pay rents significantly below market rates.

The report also noted instances where individuals who already owned properties were allocated additional Turkish Cypriot immovable properties. The newspaper emphasized that the failure to involve local authorities in the process of identifying individuals for the allocation of Turkish Cypriot properties has exacerbated the problem.

Overall, the report raises concerns about the allocation and usage of Turkish Cypriot properties in the south, indicating a need for proper oversight and involvement of local authorities in the decision-making process.
