Fire Department Responds to 13 Fires and 19 Incidents in Northern Cyprus in One Week

Police in Northern Cyprus have announced that a total of 13 fires and 19 incidents were reported in the region in the past week. Firefighters responded to the incidents, which resulted in a combined total of 312,400 TL of material damage.

According to information from the Fire Department, there were a total of 13 fires and 19 incidents from May 29 to June 4. The causes of the fires that resulted in a material loss of 312,400 TL were listed as "sparks caused by the contact of the electrical wires, short circuits caused by electricity, cigarette butts thrown without extinguishing them, the overheating of a car's turbocharger, and sparks that ignite dry grass caused by welding equipment or machinery." 

Regarding the incidents, the Fire Department stated that they mainly included special rescue incidents, such as the rescue of a person trapped in an elevator, the rescue of a person with a broken leg on a rocky seaside, rescuing cats trapped in the engine section of a vehicle, taking precautionary measures against fires, providing fire training, ensuring road safety, and transferring deceased individuals for legal medical investigation.
