Turkey’s inflation is at its lowest level in the past 18 months, standing at 38.21 percent
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures for June. According to the data, there was a change of 3.92 percent compared to the previous month, 19.77 percent compared to December of the previous year, 38.21 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and 59.95 percent based on the twelve-month average.
The main group with the least increase compared to the same month of the previous year was housing, with a rise of 14.76 percent. On the other hand, the main group with the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was restaurants and hotels, with a rise of 67.22 percent.
Looking at the main expenditure groups, healthcare showed the least increase of 1.21 percent compared to the previous month in June. Conversely, alcoholic beverages and tobacco had the highest increase of 11.13 percent compared to the previous month.
Excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, as well as gold, the change in CPI was 3.45 percent compared to the previous month, 23.64 percent compared to December of the previous year, 46.63 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and 59.18 percent based on the twelve-month average.
