The visit was postponed due to the crash of a firefighting aircraft combating wildfires in Greece, resulting in the loss of lives of two pilots.
The newspaper stated that the main objective of Mitsotakis' visit to South Cyprus is to have a detailed discussion on the Cyprus issue, and that President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, desires a clear understanding of his intentions, desires, and goals in the current context.
