Prominent lawyer Ahilleas Dimitriadis from South Cyprus has expressed the need for active efforts in establishing a "Truth Committee" regarding the missing persons issue.

In an interview with Fileleftheros newspaper, Dimitriadis, who is considered the "brainchild" behind the proposal for the establishment of a "Truth Committee" presented by South Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides to President Ersin Tatar, discussed the subject.

He emphasized that uncovering the facts regarding the long-standing issue of missing persons, which has caused suffering to families for almost half a century, would be beneficial for everyone. Dimitriadis also noted the urgency of conducting relevant activities as time works against the families of the missing persons.

Dimitriadis stated that Christodoulides' proposal for a "Truth Committee" is a positive move.
