In his statement, Ataoğlu explained that Taşkent Picnic Area was leased to Taşkent Nature Park during his ministry's term in 2016, highlighting that the area had been neglected and inactive until then. He stated that with meticulous efforts and substantial investments, the Nature Park was transformed and developed into a picnic area that met world standards and was an exemplary facility for the country. It was opened to the public in 2017, effectively addressing a significant need.

Ataoğlu reminded that the Nature Park operates as a non-profit charitable institution for the public good. He pointed out that various successful collaborations between the Nature Park, his Ministry, and related departments had been realized across the island in the interest of nature, environment, and wildlife. He further mentioned the recent signing of a protocol between the Nature Park and the Environmental Protection Department concerning wild donkeys in Karpaz, which marked the beginning of scientific endeavors in this regard.

Highlighting the continuous development of the Taşkent Picnic Area by the Nature Park, Ataoğlu stated that hundreds of thousands of citizens and students have enjoyed the clean and serene environment, spending quality time in harmony with nature. He acknowledged that the completion of permits for the restaurant building within the Picnic Area had been hindered due to Coronavirus-related and bureaucratic obstacles. However, he regarded this as a technical issue that could be resolved through mutual cooperation. After inspecting the restaurant building on-site, he praised its thoughtful design and construction, noting that it stands as a unique example in Northern Cyprus, awaiting resolution of the technicalities for it to be a source of pride for the country.

Ataoğlu stressed the responsibility of official institutions to contribute to the Nature Park's efforts, acknowledging its selfless collaboration and success. He encouraged constructive cooperation among all parties to resolve current issues without impeding the Nature Park's achievements. He shared that he had discussions with the City Planning Department and Environmental Protection Department under his Ministry to address these matters constructively.
