Çavuş: We will collaborate to increase businesses with PDO certification

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş met with a delegation from the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce (CTCC) and emphasized the importance of the chamber's work. He stated that they would collaborate to increase businesses with PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) certification.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Çavuş highlighted the significance of the CTCC's activities during the meeting and emphasized that the chamber became even more important after the registration of halloumi, which constitutes 45% of exports. Çavuş also noted that they would collaborate to increase businesses with PDO certification.
The meeting also involved discussions on increasing the production of fodder legumes and creating market opportunities, as well as addressing issues related to organic wheat production.
Çavuş emphasized the need for consultations to preserve and increase the production of ancestral seeds.
