New development in pharmaceutical profiteering

Some self-employed physicians, by making agreements with some pharmacies and pharmaceutical warehouses, issued prescriptions in the names of people who do not reside in the TRNC, or wrote excess drugs and medicines unrelated to the disease into insurance prescriptions, causing outrage.

According to the information received by Kıbrıs Postası from the Pharmacists Association, the Pharmacists Association will support the legal struggle to prevent 440 pharmacists from being suspected and to identify the criminals. The union is expected to make a statement on the issue tomorrow.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The country woke up to the profiteering of the health system. According to the information obtained by Kıbrıs Postası, some self-employed physicians made agreements with some pharmacies and pharmaceutical warehouses, issued prescriptions in the names of people who did not reside in the TRNC, or made profit for the state by writing excess drugs and drugs unrelated to the disease into insurance prescriptions.

The profit made to the state is shared by the pharmacist, the pharmaceutical warehouse and the freelance doctor who are involved in the operation. It is said that the damage suffered by the state is 60 million TL.
