Foreign Ministry: The Cyprus Greek State Has Never Represented and Will Never Represent the Turkish Cypriot People

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people will continue to exist on this island and will not relinquish their rights, stating, "The Cyprus Greek state has never represented and will never represent the Turkish Cypriot people in any way or under any conditions."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) stressed that the only representative of the Turkish Cypriot people is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which was established by their free will.
The Ministry noted that in his speech at the 78th United Nations General Assembly, the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration, Nikos Christodoulides, made statements that were distant from the island's historical past and current realities, insincere, and disrespectful to the Turkish Cypriot people.
The statement also emphasized that today, achieving a just, realistic, and sustainable settlement on the island depends on the good neighborly relations and cooperation to be developed between two separate independent states.
